He means a metric meter. A simple meter cannot be used to measure volume. Unless, of course, you are referring to cubic volumes.

does that mean you guys are not using sprites for blood?

Must be procedural decals? My spelling could be wrong but basicly a sprite that takes into account for the normalmap and the angle of the surfice.

Very good job i must say.

Oh wow, that looks fantastic.

So does this only work on basic primitve surfaces like the cube you were spattering, or have you also made it possible to flow down terrain surface?

A suggestion for a more realistic effect would be particle physics. Maybe make it so that the blood eventually makes its way down to the bottom of the surface and it then produces blood drop particles that fall to the ground and spatter the floor and such. Doing that would give it a very realistic look.

It's fantastic that you guys are actually making such a thing. I think the only game I've ever seen do something similar was Dead Space, but it didn't look as smooth as this does.

looks like it is a sprite using specular and bump, and coded to blur as it moves down and... transform into a circular shape?

Question, are you going to add some form of fluid animation for blood missing a certain area (e.g. Half of the blood flying over a short wall while the other half does hit it)?

They are using an engine they build from scratch specificly for the game. it's called the "Pheonix Engine".
