The beginning of the game is story based. But after you get the boat it's all open world. But there's a lot of things to discover. Discoveries (spots with interesting history that is hidden, look for things that are out of the ordinary) Hidden chests (some with rare weapons, maybe some with references) Crew members that opens up new things Quests that brings an interesting history And don't forget that your decisions impact the world.
