Set in the year SE 3256, the player is thrust into mankind's first interplanetary war between the Earth Alliance and the Ares Confederation. As the promising captain of the experimental dreadnought prototype, codenamed Sierra. Your sole objective is to help turn the tides of the war, utilizing the ship's advanced combat systems, flexible energy allocation and optimized platform deployment capabilities. To the captain, the core principles of prudence, guile, resource management and patience are essential to survival. The technology incorporated in Sierra allows it to explore multiple paths to victory: evade and assault enemy ships in classic broadside warfare; research armaments and upgrades to outgun the enemy fleet; or outnumber them with remotely-controlled weapon platforms. Rout the enemy’s armada in order to quell the rebellion and save Earth from the corrupt colonials.

If you're having a problem finishing a stage in Operation SD, just remember the following general tips and tricks.

Posted by on

- Use platforms.
- Use the energy allocation hotkeys, A, S, D, Z, X, C, to be able to use the movement speed boost on the
fly.
- Platforms can be protected by Sierra's shields.
- Allied ships that survive at the end of a mission will net you some resource units.
- If in doubt, read the documentation.
- If your strategy doesn't work and you're stuck, try something else.
- It is advisable to get a Level 3 weapon (except the Pulse level 3 weapon) before the first boss fight with
Leviathan (Stage 11), Preferably a rail gun.
- Platforms are your friends. Deploy a lot of them, especially the Bullet Lv 2 ones.
- You can skip cutscenes by pressing the escape button
- Anti-Cap Missiles (the one with splash damage) can be destroyed instantly by EMP weapons and
ability. Rail guns and Beam cannons can also pierce this type of missiles.
- During the early stages with beam frigates (if you have kinetic cannons), it is advisable to switch the
targeting of missiles to other targets aside from capships. Since PD lasers only target missiles and
not kinetic bullets.
- CIWS are not for point defense only. These weapons can also be used to deal huge amount of
damage to capships early in the game.
- Platforms are immune to Disruptor fire.
- Retreating enemies that stop at a certain distance will not pursue its target anymore.
- Try to prioritize retreating enemies, as they will fire faster and deploy faster (after stage 11) as they
slowly fall back.

Hope these things help.
