In 1942, the greatest minds in America were brought together for a secret project- an atomic super weapon. A bomb which could instantly end the war in the Pacific. That project failed. The only alternative to defeat Japan was to launch the largest concentrated amphibious assault in history, codenamed Operation Downfall. Team Select screen, Work in Progress. On the left you have the Empire of Japan, as opposed to simply the Imperial Japanese Army. The Imperial Japanese Army will also have the Volunteer Fighting Corps to aid in it's resistance to the Allied Forces, often poorly armed save for Type 4 grenades which were abundant.
