Long story short, a contributor contributed textures derived from non-Free textures from cgtextures.com and said it was "okay". Repeatedly. He also said the cgtextures admin said it was okay too but that's probably from a personal message.
Later on this contributor ultimately left the forum with insults. The admin of cgtextures.com has stated that the textures to be used under a GPL license a month too late.
When OA 0.8.1 will release is unknown at this point. (another huge release, unfortunately)
