Oknytt is a point-and-click adventure game where the player takes the role of a small, seemingly insignificant creature, leading it through a dark world riddled with obstacles to help it find a place to belong. The game takes place in a Norse medieval world and contains a number of beings and areas inspired by Swedish folklore. Oknytt's gameplay is comprised of classic point-and-click puzzle solving combined with the usage of four runes located at the bottom of the screen. These runes can be activated at any time to trigger various changes and events in the area around the protagonist. Features · Manipulate the environment around you using elemental forces · A unique art style inspired by the famous Swedish painter John Bauer · Experience and collect lore about creatures and monsters from Scandinavian folk lore · Fully voiced by the talented Brian Hall · Winner of the Swedish Game Concept Challenge 2012

Really wish there was a way to play in a windowed mode, can't find any info online about it...

I'm sorry, but the game is full-screen only. There were several complications that an impact on gameplay with using windowed mode so we decided to cut it.

Dang, that's unfortunate, I've been playing it slowly bit by bit when I can but I have a lot of background applications and things running that require attention on other monitors so that limits the time I can spend on the game. Ah well, it's lovely so far what I've played!

Also, thanks for coming in and responding to people! Really sets devs like you apart from many others! :)

I am absolutely in love with this game. Easily one of my new favorites. Atmospheric point and clicks have a special place in my heart, and one based on real folklore? Scandinavian folklore? In a melancholy pine forest, with hypnotising, ambient noises singing to me the whole time? Any one of those things would have been enough to sell the game to me alone. Together, it seems almost too good to be true.

It's not often that I get to indulge in a game where I can look forward to coming home from a long day of work and just decrompressing the day's stress with a game this calming, atmospheric, and beautiful.

Thank you for making this game.

Very beautiful game (especially at $0.75)!

Only complaint is that my widescreen forces it into a 1024 x 768 letterbox with no res options.

Hi Carnival73. When you start the game there should be a window popping up where you can change your resolution.

This reminds of that PBS show where the guy drew with chalk and told the story at the same time. I know most of you will have no clue what I'm talking about.
