Welcome to Friday update #8!

This weeks topic, the weapons of NNK continued and our interview with Super Vegetto!

The weapons system plays a huge role as one of the main modes of gameplay for NNK. It will use the 2-0 numbers on the keyboard, with 1 being our taijutsu or melee. We also will keep the quick-switch key feature to allow easy switching to the previous weapon used. All of our weapons will have a limited amount, however, and can be replenished as explained below.

The first weapons revealed were the kunai and shuriken. This week we will finish off the rest of the weapons planned for NNK. Now onto the beautiful renders Super Vegetto has created.

The smoke bomb is used for tactical purposes. Using a smoke bomb will cover the area with smoke to wherever it was thrown to. Useful for escaping and for a tactical assault on the enemy.

The exploding tag is useful for blowing up the enemy and can be used strategically or with an all out assault

The primary function of the exploding tag would allow the player to stick it on surfaces as well as players. If stuck on a surface, anyone within the vicinity of the tag will cause the tag to self-detonate causing damage to those nearby. Sticking the tag on players will cause the tag to detonate after a few seconds, leaving the one to be stuck on the verge of death.

The secondary function of the exploding tag would allow the player to throw the tag attached to a kunai, causing an explosion on impact.

Big thanks to Compwhiz for helping us create the exploding tags system!

The weapons pouch falls to the ground after the death of an opponent. Within players can restock their weapons if depleted during battle. So if you need another exploding tag or more kunais to shoot, look for one of these after you have defeated your enemy.

And this week's interview, Super Vegetto!

Ok, so tell us about yourself?
Okay, so my name is Or Terry. I'm 19 years old and I live in Israel, Ramat-Gan. (Come visit!)
I'm a student currently studying 3D Animation and Multimedia Design (Maya, AE).

How long have you been following Naruto and do you only read the manga, watch the anime or both?
I heard about Naruto way before I actually decided to start watching it. After all of the first 135 episodes were released, I decided to give it a shot since I heard about the fillers and everything. I've been following the anime ever since. I only gave the manga a chance when Shippuuden was released. It was on and off back then, but now I'm keeping myself updated every week.

Are there any other animes you watch or mangas you read?
I used to watch Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, Elfen Lied, Bleach and DBZ and loved them all. I'm still watching some Death Note episodes that I missed every now and then.
Other than that, I'm only following Naruto Shippuuden at the moment. It's hard for me to find something else that is good enough to watch and that'll catch my interest quickly.
As far as manga goes, I never read any except for Naruto Shippuuden.

So how did you get into modding anyways?
It all started when I was still in highschool. My friends showed me a DBZ mod for Quake 3 called Bid for Power. It was the first time I actually learned what a mod is, and I was very intrigued. One thing led to another, and I found myself lurking in the Earth Special Forces (DBZ mod for HL) forums, watching people posting their work to learn more about the artistic side of it. I really wanted to start getting into the 2D/3D area.

After asking all kinds of "noobish" questions, I decided to check up a few tutorials and was stubborn enough not to quit. Eventually I got the hang of it and started posting work. I got excellent criticism from the forum members and kept developing my knowledge and skills. After a while I decided to join a certain mod and ZEQ2 came along (love at first sight). I worked on ZEQ2 for about 4-5 years until I had to quit because I joined the army. It was one of my best experiences as I learned a lot, not only from the project but also from the team.

And how did you end up at NNK and what exactly do you do on the team?
Kong told me about a Naruto project he's starting and asked me if I want to join as a 3D/2D artist. I was still serving in the army at that time, so it was a tough call.
Eventually, I joined in and it all worked out nicely. I'm basically doing anything the team needs: Models/ Textures/ Renders/ Sounds/ Sprites/ Animations/ Etc.

Are there any other projects you worked on in the past or that you are currently working on you would like to mention?
The only project I ever worked on besides NNK is ZEQ2. I always liked freelance work, though. I created many custom models for ESF in the past.

Any last words you want to add to this before we bring this to an end?
To sum it up, it's really exciting working on a mod again, especially with this team. I'm really happy to be a part of it. I have complete faith in the team, that this project will be successful and that we'll reach our goal. Keep your support guys! We'll keep you posted with goodies as we progress.

That's it for this week's update.
