MyWorld is a 2D mmorpg that breaks the current stereotypical genre by furthering the horizons. MyWorld aims to have a depthful world, creating a compelling history. Languages, migration, culture, history, Alchemy, farming, evolution, a large range of weapons and armour related to the development of their perticular species, Myworld is a World in itself - featuring around 4000 "known" species of fauna and flora and a fully-detailed planet, from tectonic plates to weather patterns to erosion and deforestation. MyWorld will be throwing out the classic "you levelled up!" and "classes" system, and introducing a more intricate system. You will no longer have to make the choice between sword, stealth and magic. Instead, practice your swordsmanship whilst throwing a fireball or two and become what you desire your character to be. MyWorld will allow you to customize your character, such as their "portrait".

You'll notice that most of the territories have different layouts, this is why:
Itsek (North-west, Grey): Itsek do not form settlements for the purpose of staking claim on land, but moreso for convenient trading posts. Itsek visit and go their own way once trading is finished.
Tatoime (Center, White): Tatoime form underground burrow systems, for the desert aboveground is far too hot to live under. So, their provinces are small due to vertical expansion, rather than horizontal.
Vapiole (South-east, Purple): The Vapiole are ruled under the iron gaze of a Dictatorship. But because his land has become so widespread, he has reluctantly chopped it up and given the rulings to Vassals - this is why the areas are so large. He keeps an eye on as much as he can, and leaves few in power, so that there is a lesser chance of rebellion.
Steir (South, Blue): Steir live in hive-like underground communities in the mountains. A short channel of sea seperates the three provinces, each belonging to a different Queen, but the outer two belonging under the supreme law of the largest province in the center.
Ghul (West, Red): The Ghuls are a mix between the provincial control of the Neonni and the independence of the Itsek, causing a havoc of self-proclaimed kings.

Is the little star the capital of each race?

I see you've changed the lands belonging to the Itsek, by adding a lake :],which is nice, didn't really like the broken up mountain range with twisty paths that were there before :/

Stars are the capitals, yes.
With the Ghul (in the newer version i'm about to upload), each province has it's own capital, but that's because they're not exactly united. In comparison to the Neonni, who have one capital and many provinces united. Sort of like Africa (Ghul) and the USA (Neonni), for comparative examples.

Thanks! I've written a new news piece giving a shallow run-down of each species, now that i've completed them all... Taking a while to go through, though.

This does look pretty good. quick q though: how big is this is approx square kiloms/miles? that would help "measure out" how big this would be.
And are you planning on separating the kingdoms into separate areas, so this isnt all rendered at once?
This, by far, is one of the best things ive seen so far on Moddb, and i wish great luck to you and your team :)

I was planning to do the measurements once I can find out the capabilities of the game engine and server, and whatnot. But, needless to say, far larger than World of Warcraft and Oblivion.

There is a small island in the north-west of this map - not the one of the edge, the one that looks like a C with a dot under it. I'd like that, ideally, to be 2-3 horizons in length (ie, you'd have to walk to the horizon twice to reach the other side of the island).

That seems a little overly ambitious. Maybe you should try to estimate your player base and think of how you want to spread the various elements around in terms of space.

I was also thinking about that problem... If the fanbase is too few, there will be massive roaming plains, forests, seas and so forth, all open for the player to explore. I mean, why make all that space, when you can minimalise it so that players bump into each other more often, right?

I wasn't being sarcastic, by the way, I just contradicted myself as my reasoning came about. I want MyWorld to be an expansive, realistic world filled with wonderful creatures and sights. PvP Interactions, hostile and otherwise, is just the topping... Think of it as a multiplayer singleplayer game. ;)

Description

The concept of Provinces has really brought up some even more new and interesting possibilities for MyWorld. For example, Imagine Europe as just one of these species' lands - so much variety! New wars, new allies.

Anyway, this is the new Provinces Layout I just finished.
