There are 7 initial quests and players can choose from any starter. Trading, Player vs Player battling and making friends is all working in this initial release.
In this initial release we have developed content up to receiving HM1 Cut.
All routes which require HM1 Cut are still blocked until the next major update.
We are busily working on additional quests which will increase your affinity with certain types of Pokemon. This makes them more common for you and improves the level at which you encounter them along with some other stats.
Player traits is a new and unique system in My Pokemon Journey which gives you the trainer a set of Dungeons and Dragons like traits which you can improve. As an example the Perception trait gives you a chance of revealing hidden passages around the region. The Stamina trait affects how far you can travel in one game day (30min cycle) and the Luck trait affects the chance of encountering a shiny Pokemon (among other things).
