Time for a little update. Since I really got further with the Battle System for the Mini RPG project, I thought about it, today I will explain how it works.

Hey and hello everyone
Time for a little update. Since I really got further with the Battle System for the Mini RPG project, I thought about it, today I will explain how it works.

But first a video so that you can see the whole thing in action. The basic idea for the whole system is "every movement counts".


The screen you see during a fight essentially consists of four different parts. I drew them in here


A - This is the actual playing field in which you move your character. Your group will throw all kinds of weapons and abilities into this area. But the opponents also throw their counter attacks in here or try to block your path.

B - Here you can see your heroes. The display at the top shows how many steps a hero still needs before the next attack is thrown on the field. I am currently still looking for a suitable representation.

C - Here you can see the group of opponents and you can also see which opponent you have currently selected. The representation of the various monsters also revised.

D - This is the status display of your hero group. You can also choose the skill cards here. This system is not finished yet.


Now you have a small overview of how the BattleSystem works. I hope that it continues to go so well and would be happy if you let me know what you think of the idea.

Nice ZX spectrum graphics :) Dont know if this style of gameplay is enough to i enjoy this game, but maybe roguelike type which is allways entertaining will make it happen

Yeah going minimal with this one! If everything goes according to plan, there will be a mix of card games, exploration and leveling .. and maybe a surprise or two.

My imagination sees a scrolling batllefield with monsters, treasures, castles producing unit and our hero is in middle and other heroes looking at him from outside screen and help him in battle, throwing bombs at enemies and shooting randomly, or healers, magicians, summoners, help with siege of this castles thats will be fun and probably new in this type of game, anyway is your project, do it how you like

Ohh thanks for sharing your idea! That is already close to our concept. We are currently working at full speed on the combat system and are looking forward to showing you more of it!
