Description

MindSeize is a 2D Action-Adventure game set in a futuristic universe. The gameplay is inspired by series like Metroid and Castlevania, as well as Mega Man X. Exploration is key to success!

The story of MindSeize centers around M.C., a private investigator chasing after a dangerous criminal organization called 'The Ascended', which for unknown reasons is stealing minds of innocent people. The first confrontation between M.C. and the leader of The Ascended severely injured M.C. and left him crippled. They also managed to seize the mind of his daughter. This left only one choice for our protagonist: hire a crew, connect his mind into a robotic body and continue the chase.

Combat and exploration make up most of the gameplay in MindSeize. To help you fight enemies and explore planets, there are many abilities, items and weapons for you to find and unlock. The time outside the "missions" is spent on your space ship, where you are free of your robotic body, with a possibility of relaxing a bit and getting to know your crew better.

MindSeize will also be telling a deep story. During your adventure you will explore topics such as meaning of humanity, what it means to be disabled and eventually solve the mystery of The Ascended.

History

Our love for old school titles such as Metroid and Mega Man X set us off to work on the game we always wanted to create. The general concept for the game has been evolving for a couple years and we started working on the actual development in January 2018. Most of the core mechanics are already implemented and everything from graphics to audio are building at a promising rate.

Info about the Alpha Demo:

The demo takes place in the beginning of the game, right after the opening cut-scenes and story-bits, focusing more on the exploration and action side of the gameplay. The areas and your starting abilities have been edited to make the experience more self-contained.

It's alpha, so you can expect to find still some unfinished content and possibly a bug or two, and the combat situations haven't been completely balanced yet. You can report possible bugs and give feedback on our Steam page or Discord: every bit helps in crafting the best possible game!
