Hello IndieDB!

I finally got around to properly setting up the page for Relativity, and am excited to start sharing development updates with you all here.

First, for those of you who aren't familiar, here's a bit on what Relativity is about:

Relativity is an exploration-puzzle game that imagines a universe with a different set of physical laws.

Set in an Escher-esque world filled with secrets and mysteries, you utilize a unique gravity-manipulation mechanic to turn walls into floors. Learn to see the world through whole new perspectives as you navigate mindboggling architecture and solve seemingly impossible puzzles.

Background
I started working on Relativity in November 2012. Initially, it was supposed to just be a small exercise to become familiar with Unity3D. I wrote the first prototype over Thanksgiving weekend, then showed it to my roommate at the time and a few other friends. The feedback was pretty encouraging, so I decided to continue to work on it.

Now
As of this writing, I've been working on the game for about 14 months now. It has already gone through about 8 major revisions, and is quite different (but much better) than the initial prototype.
I had an alpha build a few months ago, but have made some major changes and I'm currently adding a lot of new content, and getting ready for a (pre)beta build.

I'm hoping to start doing playtesting sessions sometime around next month to see how the new content holds up.

Wow, this looks very interesting. The central game mechanic looks and sounds unique, and I'm really digging the varied color palette you've got going on for it.

I'm not sure how you're planning on running the (pre)beta build, but when the game is ready for that phase and if you need any additional help in finding any possible bugs, then I'd be happy to try testing it out.

Thanks, Methodias! I will keep you posted.

I'm not sure myself how I'll be doing the (pre)beta build either. I'll for sure be doing local in-person testing just to work out the obvious bugs and smooth out some edges before putting it online.

I think Desura could work, I've played some demo builds through there. I'll have to look into it more closely though to see what's required to host a build. Still very new to the IndieDB/Desura set arrangement.

That's fine. In fact, I just joined yesterday. xP

Thanks for responding though, I'll try and keep my eye on 'Relativity' to see how development for it goes. Oh, and I really like the layout for your game's website by the way. If you don't mind me asking, what did you use to set the site up?

It's all just static html. I had thought of using wordpress, but in the end that didn't seem necessary, as I had all the info on one page only. I think I found a free template online that was super basic, and just made adjustments from there. For the press page, that's just presskit(), which you can get for free here: Dopresskit.com
