Luftwiderstand, German for air resistance and pronounced something like [looft-wee-dar-shtand], is a minimalist arcade shooter in development. You control a jet plane and fight against hordes or bullet-spewing baddies and gravity for fame, glory and your personal bragging rights. Pick up items to restore health and increase the score multiplier for an epic highscore. My crude Photoshop concepts of possible stage-backgrounds in the game. Note that the actual in game screen is zoomed in to about 500% of the concept here. I am happy with none of them because none of them fulfills the requirements of 1) being visually interesting but not distracting from the foreground, 2) enabling the player to locate themselves within the stage, and 3) showing off some lovely parallax scrolling.
