Legacy is a rogue-like, procedurally generated, open world, character driven RPG. You play a character of your creation within the world until that unavoidable day comes in which he or she is no more, at this point you will create a new character, a descendant! This new character can be any race, or half race, that you have unlocked through romancing with previous characters, s/he will inherit certain traits of your previous characters as well as gaining the social status of being a child of your previous character. The world will change over this time as well, old friends will die, new enemies will arise, factions will war, the terrain will change, and the world in which your new character embraces may be but a shell of the world you once knew. Hey guys! Recently we've been really pushing to make sure this demo will be as awesome as we can make it. Since our demo takes place in a dungeon, and no dungeon is complete without an epic boss, we've decided that on top of having a basic combat encounter showing off our directional combat system, we will also be having an epic boss battle at the end!

Hey guys! Recently we've been really pushing to make sure this demo will be as awesome as we can make it. Since our demo takes place in a dungeon, and no dungeon is complete without an epic boss, we've decided that on top of having a basic combat encounter showing off our directional combat system, we will also be having an epic boss battle at the end!

So today I modeled, textured, and rigged up our demon with some armor! (Just quickly done up placeholder animation to test the rig)


Other than that, I had been messing around with Unity's occlusion culling, and have been rather impressed with how well things have been going. After tweaking the settings around for a bit and properly learning the system I was able to improve my fps 3-4x. Optimization and proper quality settings are something I have high up on my priority list. I want people with lower end or perhaps outdated rigs to still enjoy the game while also allowing those with higher end rigs to crank up Lighting, Textures, and PPE and really enjoy the work I'm putting into the game.

So what's next? Well, we are still in need of serious financial funding but have some investors we are following up with. It also looks like we will be bringing on our third and final core team member, he will be taking the role of coding the shaders we need and almost exclusively working on our procedural level system! We are very excited to get that up and running!
