Frenzied bullet hell action covered in an RPG candy shell. Kite's goal has always been to get the players adrenaline pumping, make them pucker up and finally deliver them into a zen garden of customization. Gameplay is classic twin-stick shmup, but each level has a different objective chain to complete and focuses on a specific mechanic or feature. After completion, players are ranked and features are unlocked based on their performance. Next, it's time to prepare for battle by customizing character load out - changing the items/abilities/weapons/companions and tweaking stats.

Ok people first things first, I don't want to hear from any scrubs about how huntards are overpowered and how it takes three rogues to DPS through druid heals...

Oh, I'm sorry wrong forum! We're not here to spit that tired old vitriol! Let's talk about Kite and what you would most like to see implemented! I thought it would be good to have a short list for you to see what my priorities look like, and then we can riff off of those ideas. Here goes:

  • Implement a gated feature unlocking system that includes more 'play by learning' scenarios. The idea here is to isolate each play mechanic and put players in situations that clearly show the purpose behind each. The current tutorial offers a lot of text and not a lot of action.
  • Finalize the 'Skill Tree' upgrade system which includes 4 tabs and over 80 different skills!
  • Implement an NPC driven item upgrade/crafting system that will be based around the rescued scientists knowledge and skill
  • Finalize how pickups and loot reclaimed in battle will relate to crafting / character progression
  • Create additional art assets, levels, enemies, bosses and destructible objects
  • Develop the story through NPC dialogue and cut scene animations
  • Redesign the UI
