Kyn is a single-player video game that mixes exciting team combat with an engrossing world worth exploring. Control up to six powerful warriors in tactical combat that rewards making smart decisions in tough situations. Pick your favorite skills and equipment and lay waste to your enemies!
We worked on a lot of things in the last week:
We started on Greenlight last tuesday. The first week has been great, we have had a positive reception and people have even offered to help us out with testing and translations. Everyone really likes our cranky sheep, so we are putting together a little contest. If you haven't voted yet, you can still vote here: Vote on Greenlight.
The music of Kyn is composed by Will Bedford. I asked Will to put some tracks on soundcloud for your listening pleasure. Every track has dynamic layers that we use depending on the mood. We have layers for when you are exploring, in combat, entering a peaceful village, or when sad things happen. Will also composes the music for TinyKeep, a cool procedural dungeon brawler that you should definitely check out!
Besides Greenlight, we have been working on one of the castles in the game and one of our sand/beach environments. Usually we start with a small mockup environment to set the tone for the level and then we use this as a template for the rest of the level. The beach environment is absolutely massive and placing all the rocks by hand has proven to be quite the challenge to my work ethic.
That's all for this week! You can follow us on twitter if you want more frequent updates.
Help us get Kyn on Greenlight and also find out what we have been doing lately.
Let’s talk gameplay, and more specifically the skill system! Kyn’s skill system is built to be simple to use, but with enough depth for different...
This week we hit a big milestone! We now have a demo of Kyn that we will use for feedback and testing and soon we will make it available to the press...

Voted up!
Thanks man, I noticed :). Much appreciated! The news post got archived by the IndieDB mods, I am trying to figure out what I did wrong :/.
Hope to see gameplay soon.
The more you release on this game the more excited we get at ShakesPub...way to go 2 guys in a basement! ;)
just two of u made this?! imagine 20 of you working on a game! will beat any other game in existance.
Thanks! 20 hmmmm...hmmmm...I'm wondering what that would be like! Do 20 people fit in a basement?
Looks great....any thoughts of coop?
The game won't be coop at release because building such a big game and also doing good network code felt like a bridge too far ( we are already 3 years in ;)).
We are however going to evaluate once we release the PC/Mac/Linux versions. After that there are two things at the top of our priority list, doing a console port, and figuring out how to add coop, because it would definitely make it even more fun!
That is...if we don't end up bankrupt and in the gutter ;).
Makes sense...look forward to giving it a run! ShakesPub definitely following...cheers!
