Stealth and blitzing-speed combat are the tools of their trade, vanishing and re-appearing to deliver that final blow to mortality. The rogue arch type is something we've been considering for some time to give another aspect to combat. When deciding to add this class though, there was a lot of moving parts that had to be worked out in advance such as arch type balancing, potential skill set, and was it appropriate for our vision of combat.
Combat in general is one of the most crucial elements to Kick, Punch...FIREBALL! since, not only is it the primary focus of the game, but it also was the reason the game came to be. The vision is and has been since conception, was the combat had to be fun...insanely fun. The goal is the get the character movement, skill system, targeting system, and all other combat sub-systems to an extremely polished level so that you, the player, see your character as an extension of you to really drive an player-immersed game play.
We understand that when you're playing, you're most likely in combat, so that's where the focus is and will remain--even after the game is launched.
We feel that the rogue fits this combat model and that we're able to bring this arch type to the same level of fun, exciting combat that we've promised to deliver.
