I'm Scott Lee with Elega Corporation, the company behind Kalling Kingdom, and I am pleased to have recently announced the release date for our new game, Kalling Kingdom, due out on to Itch.io on July 27th, 2019 for Windows. As the player, you manage the town of Trenn and seek to attract the best people from around the land, make critical decisions each turn, and create new businesses to grow the town. Along the way, you will encounter natural disasters, monster attacks, market swings, and many other challenges.

We hope to have a gameplay trailer out in early July, and as a small scale project: Kalling Kingdom is meant to be on the same scale as older retro titles that might have been released around the 8-bit era.

While the gameplay is of similar scale to this retro era, the artwork should be within modern specification to the extent that we are not producing a low resolution game or using pixel art. As far as city management games go, this is also not as complex as many other titles folks may be used to playing. The gameplay is simplified with the intention of having a relaxing, self-paced gameplay experience.

In a recent Elega Corporation blog post, I discuss the inspiration and origins of this project. Folks who are following along here on IndieDB should also feel free to watch the regularly scheduled live development streams on Twitch. Our live stream schedule is always available on ElegaCorp.com. If you would like to catch up on the dev streams, check out the YouTube playlist.

In the future, we would like to expand to other storefronts beyond Itch.io, and that is in future plans, along with ports to other major platforms like Linux and Android. At launch, keyboard and mouse will be supported for gameplay and I would like to add controller support in the future as well.

Thanks for reading! More to come.
