This game looks awesome! I'm downloading the demo now.
I was entranced and greatly anticipating this game I'd seen 5 min. ago,
then I saw "top-down shooter".
Great, another cookie-cutter shooter where things like story, player progression and interaction, tactics and strategy, and freedom to roam, play, and explore take a back seat or are completely eliminated for the sake of copying Smash TV.
wheeeee.
Well, if you bothered to look at any of the videos you might have noticed that the game doesn't consist of one room used over and over again. So that's a big fundamental difference between Smash TV right there.
Thank you for your comment! I should clarify why i call it a top-down shooter. Top down describes the perspective used, and shooter describes the fact that you primarily use a projectile based weapon.
Smash TV was, as you claim, a top down shooter. However, not all top down shooters are Smash TV. At least, they shouldn't be. Johnny Outlaw has very little in common with Smash TV aside from the perspective and the basic form of his primary weapon.
I can't guarantee that the game will meet your desires for exploration, as it is first and foremost an action-oriented game. But once I have the game play where I like it, I'll release a demo and I'd love to have your review then!
Looks cool so far! Also, I noticed that many of the videos feature a MIDI version of "The Entertainer"... will this be in-game or is it just a placeholder?
That midi ragtime is just a placeholder from the public domain. Currently I am working on acquiring some music, and hopefully it will come in time for the next update!
You could actually make a successful DS game out this!
Good Luck!
XD He used dead eye XD
My expectations weren't so great, then i watched the video.
Awesome stuff so far, haha.
Nice tracking this!
omg i commented my self!
And I just commented you! AHHH!
And I have commented as well. Madness within Madness.
