Interstellar Space: Genesis is a turn-based space 4X strategy game where you are the emperor of a space faring civilization. You will explore the wonders of space, colonize other worlds and expand your empire across the stars where mysteries await you. You will discover that you are not alone in the universe. And, when you meet other sentient species, what will you do? Will there be peace, or will you go to war?

Interstellar Space: Genesis is heavily inspired by Master of Orion 2: Battle at Antares, the awesome turn-based space 4X strategy game from the 90’s, and reference in the genre. The game is being developed following a “classic meets the new” approach where the best parts of MoO2 are kept and we’ll be improving the experience to today’s standards while also offering something new.

In that regard, ISG is a spiritual successor to Master of Orion 2, imagining where the series could have gone from there, now offering a new twist and experience to a successful formula! So, come aboard and join us on the forums to ask us questions or share your thoughts where you will find a passionate community that also loves the Master of Orion series and wants to see where the classic formula will go next!

The game is being created by the team behind the former sci-fi strategy games news website SpaceSector.com, headed by the two developers of Praxis Games, Adam Solo and MalRey, a young development studio devoted to making great strategy games with deep and complex gameplay for a diverse set of settings and themes. As for our vision and values, we strongly believe in good and solid gameplay first, community-driven development, product quality, transparency and extensive client support to keep our clients as satisfied as possible, so that we can keep making great games for them for a long time to come!

Interstellar space genesis alpha

Hello space emperors of interstellar Space! We haven't made one of these quick updates in a while so let's take a look at what we've done and are doing since January of this year in our road to Beta!

We released the Alpha 1b build to our backers on December 27th 2018. The feedback was great and we got a big number of suggestions for improvement. January was all about working on all of those suggestions and many others we've received in the past. Many issues were resolved and due to that feedback we think the game is now much more balanced and fun!

February, March and the first two weeks of April were all about adding more ship modules to the game and to finish the AI. It was a huge undertaking, but finally we now have a complete AI in the game! As some of you know, there are different difficulty settings to go with and different races can have a specific difficulty level. You can also set a difficulty level for yourself. The AIs play by the same rules as the human player (they don't cheat!). However, they do get starting bonuses in the higher difficulty levels, after which no other bonus or special treatment is given to the AI, and the human player will be measuring strength with the AIs in equal footing. May the best Space Emperor win!

With the gameplay and AI now finished we're now entering the "polish phase" where we'll be adding a tutorial to the game as for all the remaining art (2D, 3D art, music tracks, cutscenes, etc). When everything is in we'll reach Beta which will be available to all of our backers. The game will then release when we feel it is ready.

That's all for now.

Thanks!
Adam Solo & MalRey

Yes! The game that made me transition from a career lurker to an active participant! Got to say, this write-up doesn't do justice to ISG, it is inspired by MoO2, but evolved in a fresh and innovative manner that allows the player to experience a 4X that is new and exciting. Keep on eye out for this one folks!
