This week we are wanting to shed some light on the gameplay of the upcoming game INT. We sat down with a few of the developers for INT to get a more complete understanding of the style of INT. Special thanks to the Project Lead Justin Bise who took the time to walk us through the gameplay aspects of INT.

INT is a 3D Sci-fi Action RPG with a strong emphasis on story, role playing, and innovative features such as randomized companions all wrapped up in an action shooter. We have covered the story side last week in our first installment of Getting INT-Depth, now it is time to get down to the RPG aspects. Most RPG’s have combat, and quests, INT has those and more.

Your Actions Have Consequences

When you as a player first load into INT you will be instantly thrown into the midst of the battle raging around your hometown. What is your first reaction? Do you feel a need for retaliation? Do you wish to help your neighbors survive and search for sanctuary? Or do you see this as an opportunity to be taken for your own personal goals? These questions are always posed to you in INT, allowing you to experience great depth and replayability. Your interactions with characters shape your journey and ultimately the game you will play.

Battle for Survival

In your journey through this war-torn world, you will face fast paced combat through hordes of enemies. You will be battling with some of the latest technology of weapons designed by the best engineers from the UCE and ACP. You will acquire powerful weapons and helpful items by finding them scattered through the world and upon receiving valuable quest rewards. Weapons, health kits, and armors are all at your disposal. The INT team has created some truly unique weapons and armor mods that will provide you with multiple customization opportunities that will vary your gameplay experience. When you are going up against a Cartel Tank what better way to kill it than with a Fist Gatling Laser Cannon? The shooter aspect of INT is very crucial to the overall gameplay feel. The developers have put countless hours balancing the weapons, shooting styles, and hit detection. As shooter veterans know, these aspects can make or break a good combat experience.

The Journey You Take

You can now slay all enemies in sight with your trusty weapon of choice, now it’s time to focus on quests. Some quests may lead you into battle with bosses, some may introduce you to new characters or factions. The quest lines in INT are diverse and varied depending on your interactions with characters and may require you to solve puzzles or make difficult choices to progress.

As you meet new characters you will be faced with many options to choose from. These interactions are not the usual three response cookie cutter style. There is no good, bad, indifferent responses. Each interaction has varying numbers and “paths” or responses. Your interactions with characters can lead you to become best friends, rivals, or maybe never even see each other again. You can have a full party of four, yourself and up to three companions. These companions you make will journey with you, aiding in combat and provide you benefits.

Getting Down to the Nitty Gritty

When released INT will be available on PC and is being built to fully utilize the newest technology in PC gaming hardware. With that said PCs with older hardware will still be able to support INT with lower settings and resolution, resulting in the same immersive experience.

We know many of us gamers have busy lives and don’t have as much time as we would hope to sit down and play. If you only have this short time to play you can accomplish something meaningful in INT, whether its interacting with some new characters, battling some enemies, or planning out your next big journey you can accomplish something in whatever time you have available.

Conclusion

We hope you now have a deeper understanding of what INT is and what is in store for you along the way. Get excited to make some friends and vanquish your enemies as you start out through your own personal journey into the INT universe. Thanks again to Justin Bise for shedding more light on the gameplay aspects of INT.
