The main news is the development of the space combat prototype. Unlike the previous prototypes, this one will be public, which means that it'll be open to anybody who's got the time ( rendez-vous on irc, no date fixed yet ) and the system requirements to run it. As it's a prototype, do not expect anything really advanced: the goal is to test a few sub-systems ( networking, physics, collisions, combat gameplay, etc.. ) but it won't be running all the nice graphics & shaders that I've developped in the past ( most of the s won't even be textured ), and the.. gameplay.. will be pretty basic ( hopefully already fun ... ? ).

Progress is going well on the combat prototype.We hope the "gameplay" part will be completed by this week end. We'll then take one more week to add some candy ( 3D sounds, HUD, particle effects, skybox, etc.. ).

Gameplay todo in the coming days:
- implement the concept of teams; assigning a battleship to a team
- handling the spawning of players
- handling the destruction of a ship + explosions
- battleship/mines turrets A.I.
- handling victory/defeat conditions for a team

Hust downloaded it. The only problem I can see is that the laser thing that looks kinda like a crosshair and rests on objects that you aim at - that thing - whether or not it actually shows up on an object seems to be calculated by the collision mesh. Maybe getting more complex collision meshes or changing that would make it look better, because methinks it would look wierd when the hitboxes aren't being drawn.

May i ask wat video player did you use to view this video?

windows media player, quicktime?

And did you use any codec?
