Build up your own town, fullfill your citizen's needs! Watch your village grow into a metropolis and become rich!
After a couple of weeks of pause, 'I, Mayor' is back with a new version!
Please note that a new version of Java was released. Make sure your Java is up to date
(Java RE SE 7 Update 17 (1.7.0_17-b02)).
This version features mostly additions that improve the game experience in whole and of course bugfixes.
The music can now be turned on or off by pressing F6. Many people in the community requested that, as they wanted to do some other stuff from time to time, while waiting for the money to come in.
Note that you can now also delete with the right mouse button, which was also called for by the community.
The main part of this update is probably the bugfixes. Errors including from saving/loading or moving around and clicking have been fixed. If you still experience any inconveniences with bugs, please feel free to contact me, as I would be happy to clear out all possible problems!
I want to thank you again for playing the game and pointing out where to add or improve stuff; your feedback has made developing 'I, Mayor' really great fun!
Also, 'I, Mayor' will go up on Desura soon. So keep an eye out for that and if you want to my twitter account too: Twitter.com :)
Allright that is it for now, stay around for any content that is coming up!
If you have any questions or critics, I would be happy to receive them.
See you soon,
toddy

I love this game but when I played V3 back when it came out, I encountered a bug which made me quit. I have now figured out what it is:
BUG: If I build within 5 tiles of map edge, because it is looking for city services within 5-6 tiles, placing a residential tile will freeze the game. So, this gives limited space unless I pack commercial/industry into that space which I don't think requires services. To address this, just check for map boundary min/max during iteration.
Other suggestions:
- change movement keys to WASD
- change right click delete block so that only E key will do it, to prevent accidents
- increase client area size, even if it is just scaling x2 the graphics. Very hard to work and see in the small client area.
- the game complains about new 1.8 Java version, although it seems to work fine, but it expects 1.7 only instead of 1.7+
- when building, check for road within 3 tiles but don't make all buildings have to be within 1 tile, otherwise I just build then destroy road which is in my way since it doesn't check for road there after being constructed
Other problems:
- Water check near edge of map appears to corrupt also
- Loading large city usually ends up only loading first 1/4 of map, and the rest is natural land no buildings, I recall now THIS is probably why I gave up because the save/load still isn't stable on a large city. It loads that 1/4 on top of a freshly generated map after restarting game, even though population and energy remains as though old buildings were there
took me failing once to for some reason to realize I had to click supply on every square to develop haha!
then I failed by deleting my police station to move it = No money left :(

Thanks for playing and reviewing! :)
I was wondering if Your game will be moddable?
I was not planing with that, but once the next update is released, I will think about it ;)
I was thinking about the same moddability as the simutrans, where whole content is merged into paksets. Then if You load a game You choose what pak do You want to play. So You can separate the vanilla version from modded easily.
It looks a bit to the great Simutrans "simutrans.com"
I have a problem... when I load game from save(F8) some part of the city loads, but the rest is the same as at start(randomly generated terrain with few areas).
Yes there seems to be a problem with saving and loading. I will post a new update when the bugs are fixed ;)
