An accurate simulation of "The Hunger Games". You're a tribute, fighting intelligent AI in a "battle royal" to be the last person standing. Inspired by the novels by Suzanne Collins and the movies by Lionsgate Films. This is a turned based combat game in 1st person perspective, with Roguelike elements. The randomly generated arenas feature a central "Cornucopia" filled with melee and ranged weapons along with food and other gear, surrounded by wilderness in which one can hide or forage. You may form alliances with the other tributes, and backstab or be backstabbed by your allies. In the preview image (from a special "Audience" standpoint) you can see the semicircle of 24 tributes on their platforms, the central golden Cornucopia, gear in front of and within it, and surrounding landscape containing mountains and waterways. "May the odds be ever in your favor!" :)

New thing I'm spotting:
Fog
Your partner saying they'll follow you instead of you asking (I guess)
Something beige in the water in front of a tree (tribute? Ground)

The beige thing is just a snow tile, the glass tree setting mixed with the snow color makes it appear beige. Look closely at the part of the tile not covered by the tree.

The "lead the way, partner" phrase isn't new, but is rather what a "close ally" (such as your District partner) says in the existing version when you use the "come here" command on them ("C" hotkey).

However, the "come here" command is part of the new leadership ranking that will be in the next version. If the command is used on a tribute right next to you (meaning they're already by your location so "come here" doesn't make sense anymore) then you'll make your leadership higher than them if they were higher than you (so they'll tend to follow you around) or else you'll abdicate leadership if you were higher (so they'll no longer follow you).

A compass item, which when picked up in your inventory should grant you access to what direction you are looking in, which could be very handy in strong foggy weather such as the one shown in this picture.

Another good addition could be a GPS item, which gives you your X,Y, and Z location as well as what direction you are facing. Perfect for people who don't like using the TAB map.

VVV I'm going to assume that the thickness of a single tile is how far you dig when using a pickaxe. VVV

What could be nice is having weather patterns in the arena. Rain could raise the water level of all water tiles by a single tile every X turns, causing some minor flooding and even erupt to major flooding if the gamemakers feel like making the rain go on for a long time.

Tsunami's could be an easy and fun addition too. Like a wall of fire, but only coming from one direction. The Tsunami could start off as a horizontal strip of water tiles coming from a random direction. Lets say it starts 25 tiles high (just an example). Each turn its height would shrink a tile. If a tribute touches this tsunami wave it could deal damage based on how lethal (high) it is.

Example: Tsunami starts 50 tiles high. If a tribute touches the tsunami wave, the tribute could take anywhere from 0~50 damage.

The tsunami wave could leave behind some water tiles, making that section of the arena almost impossible to traverse unless it's a mountainous area!

Animals that behave a little like passive mutts that drop food would be nice too.

A compass and GPS are already in the game: Just play as District 6 (Transportation) and you get those abilities innately. Having items provide such abilities to other Districts is an interesting idea, which suggests being able to do the same with other Districts too. For example, have a Flippers item which allows swimming in deep water without having to wield a Club (D4 specialty), have a Portable Lightning Rod item that allows you to avoid taking damage from forcefields (D5 specialty), have a cosmetics kit that makes you more appealing to sponsors and get sponsor gifts more often (D1 specialty), and so on.

Currently all water is at the lowest Z coordinate in the arena. Having waves and such means water at higher elevations, which would open up a number of new possibilities. For example, rivers that flow downhill, waterfalls, and lakes nestled at high locations. If you dig at the edge of a high lake, you could make a canal to lower elevations, draining the lake and flooding lowland areas. :)

Description

Version 3.2 introduces a setting for fog, which makes it harder to see in the arena even during the daytime. A foggy arena at night is the most difficult visual environment, because there are no stars or anything to assist in orientation.
