Hoverloop is a Splitscreen Arcade Arena Combat game.
Access an array of customizable drones with unique abilities. Use teleportation, deathrays, control jammers and super speed to carry your team, or yourself, to victory!

Fight against or work together with friends in splitscreen/online multiplayer. Alternatively, you can play together with AI-Bots, in a variety of game modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Endless AI-Waves (Invasion), Battle Royale, Zombie Tag, Capture the Flag (Assault), Air Hockey and 3 more

Multiplayer


The core idea of the game is to bring gamers back together in their couch, sharing a snack and shouting battle cries at eachother!

We have up to 4-player splitscreen working at the moment. If you'd rather play by yourself, we have also implemented some AI-bots to play with. So each game mode can be played with a various mix of AI and human players.

Even the garage where you customize your drone, can be operated in splitscreen mode.

We will have online multiplayer as well!

So the essence of the game:


  • Pick your favourite customizable drone from a vast variety, each with it's own unique ability like teleportation or deathray.
  • Obliterate your opponents with the large weapon arsenal at your disposal. Blow them up, stun them or even turn off their gravity, making them drift off into oblivion!
  • 10 Different game modes to choose from. Ranging from Deathmatch and Capture the flag,
    to Endless AI-Wave battles and Air Hockey.
  • Add up to 4 splitscreen players or AI-Bots to the game. Online/Offline.
  • A wide array of maps to choose from. No matter if you like small, medium or large maps, we have them all, in various styles!
  • Customize your drone with different materials, colors, hats and trails.
  • Playable with all mainstream controllers, or with keyboard/mouse.
  • Contains a mixed list of exclusive EDM music to help you destroy your enemies in style. (Can be muted if you favour your own playlist or just pure silence!)

Kortrijk/Belgium, 10 January, 2019: Hoverloop has not been idle over the past couple of months. The team has been hard at work restyling the entire game to get a cohesive cyberpunk look & feel. Everything will be reworked; from the menus & HUD to the levels, item pick-ups and guns. They’ve also made plenty of gameplay changes after gathering player feedback from Early Access players and visiting gaming fairs. It looks better, it plays better, it FEELS better!

Players will be able to discover the improvements first-hand at 1UP, where a brand new playable demo will be showcased. We’re looking forward to the initial feedback.

After the event, we’ll also announce the changes we’ve got in store for the business model. Suffice to say it will be a whole other game and better for it.

About Not A Company: The company (ironically!) was founded in 2017 by Philippe Mesotten. After working as VFX Artist on titles such as Divinity Original Sin and LEGO Dimensions, Philippe wanted to start working on his own game: Hoverloop. (The logo above = also brand new!)

Regarding gametype ideas. I got two ideas (again they are from unreal tournament).

First is Domination. It is a team gametype in which a team gets points by securing different control points (usually 3 to 5 control points in a map). The more control points secured, the faster the team scores. The team that reaches the score limit or has more score at the end of time limit wins.

Second is Onslaught. It is also a team gametype. The object of this gametype is to capture a series of power nodes connecting your base to your opponent's base, and destroy their main power core. You cannot attack or capture a power node unless it is linked to a nearly friendly node (node that is controlled by ur team).
If the time limit is reached then both ur and enemy main power core start loosing health. The team that has less nodes controlled will lose their core's health more quickly until one team's core is destroyed.

I must say, this a very fine looking game so far.

Although i have yet to play it but from the few videos i have seen, it reminds me of unreal tournament, which i love because it had lots of gametypes and mutators(gameplay modifiers).

This inturn gives me an idea. Is it possible for u guys to implement mutators.
In unreal tournament, the mutaters can be used in almost every gametype and are mostly weapon or speed modifiers like arena weapons(same weapons for everyone), instagib(1 shot kill), movement speed, air control etc.

Thanks! We are thinking of implementing a Mario-Kart style race mode, what do you think about that? For the start of the Steam Early Access, we'll only have a few modes available though. (But -with- online play!)
