You are Roku, the Demon Girl. A mysterious oni named Sam releases you from your icy bondage in the lowest level of Hell and helps you to escape by telling you were to go next and how to break through barriers to the upper levels. There are 9 Circles in Hell and therefore 9 distinct areas which Roku must race through to rise from the Underworld and once again walk the Earth. Each area will contain 4 stages, amounting to 36 levels of high speed action. Race against the clock, running down demons and monsters in your path, grabbing powerful, speed-increasing tokens, and avoiding all of the traps the Dark Lord and his minions put in your way. It is within your power to feel the warmth of the living world once again, but you must go NOW.

Post news Report RSS 13 Days Left in KS Campaign - New Art! New Rewards! New News!

We have a little less than half the campaign left, but we're going strong at 21%! Statistically we're in a good place now! I'm still working on the game and today you can get a small glimpse at how the other half lives - that's right, we've seen Hell, now we're taking a look at Heaven. Come on in!

Oh, hallo!

Kickstarter Update

There's never been a better time to become a backer! The project is at 21% at the time of my writing this, which means we've entered a sweet spot for Kickstarters! It's now a LOT more likely that the game will see full funding than it was before. According to Kickstarter's own statistics 80% of projects that make it to 20% funding before the end of the project wind up getting ALL of the funding. That's huge! 4/5 Projects!!! Don't let this one be the fifth - hop on board and help out! Every dollar REALLY helps make this game a possibility!

If you're already a backer and you want to show your support, the best way to do it is to change your Kickstarter avatar or your Facebook picture to one of these new backer images:

OR IF YOU CAN'T BACK AND STILL WANT TO SUPPORT!

The support badges are very helpful because, as I've said before, becoming a backer is just ONE way to support the campaign! Visibility is the name of the game and word of mouth is the best way for the project to get noticed. A backer recently told me that he's had trouble finding the game in listings on Kickstarter and I discovered the same issue. I've reported it to the website, but who knows if they'll fix it. Translation: this project really needs YOUR help. It might not make it without you. Plus I've added new backer rewards like a soundtrack, a pin pack, and actually APPEARING IN THE GAME'S ENDING!

Does that sound fun? Then become a backer today!

Greenlight Update!

The Steam Greenlight page is well on its way with almost 650 votes! If the game can be released on Steam it would do so much for sales, so please go to Steam Greenlight and vote YES for History of the Demon Girl! Thank you!

Dev Update!

The game's development continues to go well! I'm making great strides every day. Yesterday I did some work on the Heaven pixel art. I also worked on an entirely new character: The Archangel Michael! I started, as always with a bit of concept art:

But then I quickly worked that down to the game's sprite format:

Ol' blondie may not look like much of a fighter, but during the War in Heaven, Michael is actually the one who defeated Satan! Yeah, you might say he's a pretty big deal... Unfortunately for Roku, he's also been ordered to stop her journey:

With The Devil setting traps to slow her down and God sending his best soldier to put a stop to it all, does Roku stand a chance? And how do you manage to piss off both good AND evil? Who IS this girl anyway???

If you don't become a backer we may never find out...

Thanks for reading! :D

It's good most of backers pay 20 USD.
It's sad you need more of them.

BTW - Michael looks great!

Thanks! Yeah it's impressive how much people have been willing to give. I'm just hoping that more things start to turn around for the campaign. There's still hope, we just need more support to get there. A lot of campaigns that I've seen look hopeless really turn things around in the last week.

Thanks for the note about Michael! Looking forward to adding more content!
