I highly recommend checking out this weeks newsletter to get a lot of information on some of the recent updates to lore and the direction of the game, view it here: Us3.campaign-archive1.com (also, click the subscribe button at the top left corner! :D )
Howdy Y'all,
Been awhile since I've specifically posted an IndieDB update. Thank you all for constantly checking out High Moon over the months and keep it in the top 1000 (often top 300, woot!).
I first began the card version of High Moon to work out game design and produce something of monetary value while I do so. At this point in time, the game design is finished and much of the art. A kickstarter will be starting in July to fund the card version AND...partially fund a restart of the app development.
I'll talk more about that later in today's article. First...some pictures. (click on the images to see larger ones, or head to the image gallery for High Moon).
It's looking pretty good, right??
At this point in time, I'm actively seeking to either hire a programmer, or put together a new development team to restart the mobile app. Unfortunately, it won't be the animated pixel game you all came to love. I just don't have the time or resources to continue with that.
This version will literally be putting the card game into app form with multiplayer functionality. It may not be visually what you want, but gameplay wise it's awesome! And fun always comes before visuals, right?
If you know of anyone who could help me build the app, either with me paying them or splitting a royalty on sales, please send them my way!
More information on what specifically I am looking for can be found here: Indiedb.com
Send me an email @ isaacblackstudio@gmail.com if you are interested!
Sad to hear the initial scope for the app has been lost (very sad), but I'm glad to see you plan on carrying on with this stuff in the spirit of the game.
It was discouraging to have to change a lot based on circumstances.
What made the game fun hasn't been lost in terms of gameplay. The pixel art everyone enjoyed is gone though :\.
There is actually another version of High Moon that has different characters with skills and the ability to choose different landscapes, but I'm not ready to reveal much of that version yet.
It's called High Moon: The Witching Games, so be on the lookout!
