GridSpace is a top-down angled 3D arcade game that will aim to be more action oriented than other games of this kind (like Geometry Wars). It will hopefully have some RPG-like mechanics of being able to upgrade and customize your ship and weapon loadout, as well as explore the large grid space world. It is being made in the Blender Game Engine.
A corruption area shown in-game. Going straight into corruption is never a good idea - it'll suck your health away in seconds.
First :D
So theres gunna be like a virus that takes over all of the grid that you have to fight?
Not really. The idea was that some of the grid will be corrupted, and moving into it will damage your ship, unless you have a particular ship upgrade that prevents this. The corruption will take damage fairly quickly, so you can't afford to laze about.
Come to think of it, having a virus that spreads across the map corrupting grid cells until you defeat it would be a good idea...
love the dark colors and that spiral galaxy down is really great but i hope that it will span the entire map with little starts and stuff near it to make it more cool.
'starts and stuff near it'? What are you referring to? Do you mean stars? That probably would be a good idea. I do agree that there probably should be more going on in the background - I think I'll make more background effects and objects to keep things interesting.
just a little blinking dots around the map would do it just fine plus i think that the galaxy needs more stretching(looks kinda bulky for me but overall it's ok)
Hm, I see. Thanks for the reply - it sounds like a good idea.
