Metroid Prime inspired the helmet, because I saw it on a screenshot.
The most important inspirations for the gameplay and level design were Cold Ice, Braid, Portal, Mirrors Edge and Super Mario.
Just saw my first ingame video, it really does look like Metroid meets portal. Very stylish and looks like it plays well :]
Hmmm... looks kind of... abstract? Very interesting idea though. Maybe I'll give it a try some time.
It didn't seem to respond to input in game (escape returned me to the menu every time but WASD/arrows/mousemovements did nothing) but that could just be my craptastic computer (the frame rate wasn't too great for me either).
It looks great though. Everything in the description/vids/images all seems really cool.

The demo won't run for me. It goes past the initial options, pops up the render window and then just dies. (both fullscreen and windowed)
I'm running vista 64, with an nvidia gts 250.
Can you send me the crash-log, when there is one? It will be located in the game-folder.
