Never you will see better a mental image, that image that you can see drawed, by this reason in a moment I had to create any sketch of a scenary. My original idea was create the scenaries of glitch boy completely handmade, and then export this like a texture to a 3d program, surely sketch up, and create a 3d scenary. But I have thought that this is a silly complication.
I can reach the same objetives with scripts and use a 2d level editor. I have found the perfect program, tiled map editor. This is a completely free program, with a very simple engine and is really intuitive. Just you have to create a bunch of sprites and export this to the program. Then you have to create a mesh as big as you want and with the resolution that you want in every box, for example I have used boxes of 25x25 pixels.
THE GROUND
I had a lot of doubts about how to create the ground of the levels. The ground is a cut of the subsoil and this can result really strange to the view if you don´t reach to the correct way to create it. I have been researching this in another games, i love how this is solved in games like Sonic the hedgehog or Fez, with boxes. And this is the perfect way to use this in Tiled Map Editor.
Therefore I have created a boxes inspired slightly by Fez and minecraft, is a mixture of reality with the pixelated dirt at minecraft styled and a box lines with the abstract style that we can see in games like Fez or Sonic.

I remember you that this is a very simle concept, this picture don´t have background, vegetation, houses, or another elements that i will add to create a beauty landscape.
