You play Gilbert, an upper class English toff who thinks himself a superb hunter, and likes nothing more than to go trophy hunting for wild animals; at least he did, until the jungle turned against him! During the day you must Find resources, build and repair your campsite, and stock up on supplies to last you through the night. Once night falls you must defend yourself against waves of angry animals, whether it means trapping them, stopping them with barricades or simply shooting them with your handy rifle! In order to survive the night you must also keep your campfire alit; else you are blind and defenceless! As the days go past, the waves of animals get increasingly harder and resources around you begin to run low, the key to success is to use resources only when necessary, as you will need to save them for harder waves later on! This is a short term project; so keep an eye out for frequent updates!

Hi all, todays update is quite small, as i am still waiting for Chris to deliver and Max is working away on some more art for us. However, i have been working on some assets this week and this is what i have for you all!:

First up, trees trees trees:
Environmental Props Model Sheet

Texture sizes vary from 32x32 to 64x64 all under 100 tri's

Now, the first of many different animals that you will encounter while playing Gilbert!
Cheetah Model Sheet

Cheetah: 296 triangles and 128x128 texture size

Also animated the Cheetah inbetween texturing some more animals which are yet to be completed:

Lastly, a little mockup of how things may look on an ipod.. just for fun :). Please note, the real game will have realtime shadows, user interface and many more plants/rocks, this is merely a demonstration of scale :)

Hope you continue to follow the progress of this game and i would love to hear some responces in the comments box!

Giles

I think the cheetah's head needs some work, it's not quite shaped enough like a cat, looks kinda like a rodent head.

The nose could do with being a little blunter and rounder i agree, trying to keep those tri's down though, as we intend to have quite alot of animals on screen at once. I doubt the shape of head will be noticable on such a small scale either, but it can always be changed at a later date if needs be:)

Thanks for the comment and crit
