Gentrieve 2 is a "Metroid"-style 3D action game featuring completely random & customizable worlds. The year is 3080. Mass Generators are creating everything, everywhere. However, thieves often steal Mass Generators in hopes of creating robot armies & fortresses. Thieves are terrible programmers, though, and their creations become uncontrollably hostile & fortresses wildly convoluted. It is your job to clear out these fortresses & return the faulty Mass Generators. Be warned, when the Mass Generator is taken offline, the fortress will soon implode!

Hey all, For the time being, Gentrieve 2 contests with cash prizes have been cancelled. While preparing the first contest, I was researching potential legal issues -- apparently there are too many. You can read some of the issues here (under "skill contests"): Basically, I don't want to make myself liable for violating any state laws, since I am not a lawyer and I can't keep track of all state regulations. At any rate, Gentrieve 2 will continue to have features prime for "Speed Run" competitions... but cash prizes will unfortunately not be awarded - Phr00t Edited by: Phr00t |

Aww. That's okay though, just means you get to keep the extra money for continued development! I might organize a speedrun contest on here down the road anyway with a small Steam game as a prize. It would work well, too, because I am terrible at this game so someone else would get the prize |

That would be awesome I would still like to do "beat the developer" contests, even if I can't legally have "prizes". I can post my time, and people can try to beat it (and beat each other). Then, I can post winners on the website (with a message / link etc.). |

I will definitely participate in any speedrun contest, and I definitely will not win. |

Could you not offer awards or achievements of some kind (or even a high score table!) rather than a real-life reward? That would keep the fun factor but avoid the legal issues. |

Yes, this could be done -- a high-score table kinda thing. I'll try and put one out next week along with a Gentrieve 2 update. |
