Greetings everyone!

Gekkeiju Online is now also on Indie DB, and I'll be posting development updates about the latest version of the game here.

Some information about the project for all those who are new to the game:

Gekkeiju Online is a rather small-scale multiplayer online rpg. The game was originally made already back in 2002 but I have redone the client and the server every few years since then. The redone versions have mostly been graphical updates but there's also been major changes in the gameplay.

The latest version being worked on, Gekkeiju Online: The Beginning, is not just a simple graphical update but there's also a total change in the gameplay. It'll finally introduce a seamless world so the world will not be split into different areas. The biggest changes in gameplay itself are the simplification of character advancement and replacement of character class guilds with character classes. These changes will hopefully bring much needed newbie friendliness to the game.

The game has mostly been developed by a single person but for this latest and the previous versions I've been getting help from a graphics artist as well. The game's community has also always greatly contributed to the project with voice acting, concept art, different user interface graphics and of course lots of ideas and suggestions.

So far the newest version of the game contains quests up to character level 8. The plan is to have quests up to level 45 before the first Beta-release of the game. This probably means around 150-200 quests which will be a lot of work.

Hopefully by the end of the year 2013 I'll know a more exact release date for the Beta version. Until then I hope you keep following the updates.
