You play as David Downing, a middle aged man who takes a job with the AFI, a company that explores the sites that have been left for unknown reasons, perhaps he took this job as he wanted something more interesting in his life, or just wants to see if he can find a purpose in life, but maybe there is something more to it. As you explore the sites, it becomes clear why they were abandoned in the first place, you, the player must interpret what is wrong and what is right. There are not set answers, as you are futile in your aspirations. Make what you will of it, Futile Aspiration is a horror game, meant to leave you questioning not only the events within the game, but leave you questioning with what the game has presented you.
