## About ##
A multi-OS rhythm game, written in Python, similar to Guitar Hero or Rock
Band. Play guitar, bass or drums along with your favorite songs on your
computer using either your keyboard or instruments. You can use your Guitar
Hero or Rock Band instrument controllers. Separated audio tracks will mute when you fail to hit or sustain the required
notes correctly to simulate a real concert-playing experience.

Rock on, FoFiX doesn't require the original Frets on Fire to play, as it's a standalone-mod.

The first alpha of what will eventually become FoFiX 4.0.0 has been released. There is a lot of work still remaining to be done, but this alpha will let you preview and check out what has been done so far. The main new things are the MegaLight v4 theme, Theora video playback, the beginning of a faster OpenGL binding, and improved theme customizability (including a new custom rockmeter mechanism
and the return of the original FoF's stage.ini).

Download it at the downloads page or at our Google Code's page.

Have fun, and don't forget to stop by our IRC channel (#fofix on OFTC) to give us your thoughts, questions, and comments or otherwise have a friendly chat with us about FoFiX. --stump

Anybody playing Frets On Fire Fix these days?
It seems a lot of songs on Rapidshare or Mediashare have been removed.
I got it running in Windows 7 with animated backgrounds and plays fine on my Xbox Guitar Hero controller
Now I want to try it in Linux with the controller as well.
There isn't a lot of information on it besides their Wiki

By the way, Frets On Fire FIX runs great in PlayOnLinux. I couldn't get the Linux native version to run, but here are step-by-step instructions how to run it:

This game rather looks like a musical version of MUGEN without the fights. So much customizing. So many features. O.O

Also, game's description updated with link to Git repo, for those who're interested in the development version or wish to contribute, I suggest you to clone the Git repo. Oh, and don't ask for support because I've give you the link to the page which should tell you everything(you post on the forums might be ignored if you post something like "I can't run FoFiX 4 bla bla bla"). ;)

Been enjoying this quite a bit. Might look into fretting some songs myself. Keep up the awesome work.
