The first WWII naval game to bring base building and combat on the same map (that we know of!). Build factories, ports and airfields in the Pacific, bring in ships and aircraft, and drive the enemy from the battlefield. Flotilla WWII brings classic tile-based action enhanced with simple and intuitive base building, providing for both small quick battles and longer island-hopping campaigns in randomly generated maps for endless fun. Play against the AI which is simple but aggressive, or play against a friend on 1vs1 hotseat multiplayer.
It's a niche topic so the competition is rather low - not many other games focusing on historical naval combat that let you build bases and ships at will and send them into battle - only Pacific Storm comes to mind. The game is functional but a bit bland, combat is too simplistic. Still nice to be able to build your base and units and send them off. AI is not hard to tackle as long as you are a bit careful, it can bite you hard but in the end it is straight-forward. Based on the last comment and the dev logs I think this can go to very nice places in the next couple of years, if armor and that kind of stuff is added this can actually be interesting. I played around for about an hour, I might revisit on the next update. Special appreciation for including almost everything in the demos, and if the price is realistically low (single digits) I might recommend it even on Steam. Bonus point for 60MB installation size.
