it took a long time since i last posted a WIP, due to reason. i implemented proper off-screen rendering (using PBuffers) in linux (was a bit of a struggle). now what do you need off-screen rendering for? to make really dynamic skins. what do you need dynamic skins for?
for the fully interactable 3d in-game computer!
yep. Epsylon will feature ingame computers which you can fully interact with in real 3d (no click and then 2d view). each computer has its own hd and is hooked up to a network. your keyboard and mouse fully operate the computer once you useed it. feel free to hack the bitch, roam around the HD, try access other pcs or just try to find a silly joke-app on the hd to have some fun ;) .
so far the pc is not yet interactable but that's about doing a little bit of coding. but i wanna make it proper so i won't hack it in just for demonstration purpose. the screen case is also just quickly hacked together in GIMP (a color square, nothing more) as important here is the screen itself, not the case.
what is so special? the login screen you see here has been done using the DGT (Dragengine GUI Toolkit) which delivers you similar power like Swing or Gtk. for those interested here the small code in Dragonscript that created that screen:
*** SNIPPET REMOVED ***
( removed code snippet as it bloated the profile view. if you wanna know PM me ).
Have a N.I.C.E. day.
this is ******* awesome.
Like the Doom 3 ones, or more interaction? (Looks like more interaction) I'm PM'ing you for the Dragonscript. ;)
indeed more interaction. this pc is fully interactiv. you can control it with your keyboard/mouse and do whatever you wanna do with it.
