As I said before, the cellar will be almost pitch black. However, there will be certain light sources, mostly to show you where doors are (but not all of them). To navigate the cellar you'll use a light, but you should really, really watch your step :D
You'll notice something in some of these screens: a woman. That's something I put off for too long, because the story behind that element is somewhat painful.
