Dwarves & Holes is a tactical squad based city builder and world simulation where you take control of a group of dwarves, hobbits, mages or demons and your goal is to explore and survive while building a successful settlement. The game features multiple game modes and is inspired by the 4X formula and games like Dwarf Fortress.
Here I demonstrate the first part of nature simulation: grass growth.
A new texture and detail map for it are badly needed, but it is enough to tell what is going on.
Grass can be removed but it will be relentless in its try to reclaim its rightful place.
For this video grass growth rate and time compression, a key feature of Dwarves & Holes which makes sure to prevent needless waiting after events are both cranked up to 11 to keep the video short. Normally grass growth takes a lot of in game time.
