Dwarves & Holes is a tactical squad based city builder and world simulation where you take control of a group of dwarves, hobbits, mages or demons and your goal is to explore and survive while building a successful settlement. The game features multiple game modes and is inspired by the 4X formula and games like Dwarf Fortress.
In this video we demonstrate the new LOD switcher that provides greater visual quality while using significantly less CPU power and a little less GPU power.
In this test we have 90000 items and a fly by camera from a higher eye level so item density does not obstruct your view of the LOD switching. I wanted to make the video look good so I avoided all items from Snapshot 3 that are not textured yet.
The new LOD engine will probably arrive together with Snapshot 4.
