In WarZone, most armies will be composed of core ground units. Other unit types will be supplements to help with your strategy and tactics. All ground units have directional armor. Front, sides, and rear, the damage is amplified when it strikes the sides and more so the rear. Depending on the unit struck this amplified damage can be substantial. A large, heavy, and powerful unit will be slow and the amplified damage from a flank can mean a cost-effective dispatch of enemy units. Smaller units will likely be able to flip around in the hands of a skilled player to mitigate the damage from the flank.
We plan for infantry to share these properties. Infantry will rotate very quickly which means it’s easier to mitigate the directional bonus damage, but they still can’t hit a target at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions. Advanced players can use this knowledge to their advantage if the situation arises. Aim for a flank with quick units or micro your units to gain an advantage when possible, dealing damage to your enemies’ rear.
