In Duskers you pilot drones into derelict spaceships to find the means to survive and piece together how the universe became a giant graveyard.Explore You are a drone operator, surrounded by old gritty tech that acts as your only eyes and ears to the outside world. What you hear comes through a remote microphone. What you see is how each drone sees the world. Motion sensors tell you something's out there, but not what. And when you issue commands, you do it through a command line interface.Adapt You have to earn everything in Duskers, scavenging drone upgrades, drones, and even ship upgrades. But dangerous creatures lurk in these derelict ships, and weapons are rare, so you may need to think of a clever way to explore a military outpost using only a motion sensor and a lure.

I really like this game, and I can see it being popular amongst coders and *nix users alike.
There is something called an alias, that at the moment behaves more like a macro. You can bring up a note pad and type in a sequence of commands divided by a semicolon, these are called from an alias you give them, thus the name.

--ex. truck = navigate 3 1; tow 3; navigate 3 r1; tow 3

This is an alias I'd use to call my tow drone to my explorer and pick up a ship upgrade or other retrievable salvage.

They are already fun and full of potential in their current state, but the developers are keen to flesh this system out adding variables and delays for starters. The syntax is simple (a little like tcl, partly because it's not esoteric, or overly complex but is still powerful.. mainly though because you're typing one liners, of commands seperated by semi colons.. just.. like.. in tcl :D).

There is a tutorial and starter galaxy but they just cover the basics and from there you are on your own. They have said that they don't want everything made clear and the intention is to have players discover mechanics through playing, reading logs and experimenting.

Aliases, as an example, were originally a text file in the games folder with no explanation.

The developers really care about making this as good a game as possible, while not trying to cater to a low common denominator.

At the moment the community is somewhat niche but robust and I only see it growing.

Great devs pushing boundaries with a great game that seems to attract some really great, intelligent people.. Can not recommend enough.
