Please remember that Duke Theft Auto is a standalone mod being created in the Eduke32 (Richard Gobeille AKA TerminX) version of the build engine. (Ken Silverman) What this means is that you will not need to own Duke Nukem 3D to play it because it will not be using any of the Duke Nukem 3D resources.
The best ETA I can give for a public release is around June, maybe later or sooner depending on how things turn out. There is a Alpha version that is available for download, but I do not support this version any more and you need to own Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic version in order to run it. ("DUKE3D.GRP" in the same folder as the extracted .rar file) The Alpha can be downloaded from here.

You will only need your copy of DN to run the Alpha, the final version will be a completely standalone mod/download. Meaning that you only need to download Duke Theft Auto in order to play it. :D

There is a third person camera? The models come from various free sorces. Blackrayne, gfx-3d-model.blogspot.com ect.

Yeah, They need to be changed to blue/grey just like the GTA ones, but small things like that are futher down on my to do list.

Thats exactly what I am trying to achive but with a first person perspective.
Added to modwatch. I love the original GTA and having it in 3D is even better. What are the multiplayer plans? I wouldn't mind seeing a CTF mode just for the hell of it (with vehicles of course).
I have no plans for CTF, just DM and TDM.
