Typical arcade game. Survive as long as you can avoid hazardous specks buzzing across the confine of a 2 dimensional world. Collect special dots to gain extra points or lose them all. Take a risk and activate special dots that will spin your fortune in an unfair turn.

Notes:
The game has reached all its goals but the game is still unpolished. Over time I'll work on the finer details. Don't expect too much from this game, it's only a simple arcade game that I've worked on in my spare time. The only purpose it serves is to entertain [like all games are meant to] so have fun!

The Progress

It's been quite a long time. I think it was a year or two when I decided to make a game. It was meant to be simple but the longer I worked on it the more I wanted to add stuff to it. Eventually I gave up because I just wasn't motivated and generally I wasn't experienced enough to add the features I wanted to add. But now a year after dropping the development of Dot Dodger I believe I found new inspiration and some free time.

Construct Classic is the engine I'm using to develop DSTO. It's has great potential when making games but it's limited to windows only since it harnesses the power of direct x 9. Construct 2 has great potential too but it's in early release phase and I'll wait for it to pick up.

Now I would like to discuss about DSTO itself. People would ask "what does DSTO stand for?", well friends I know it but I think it should not be mentioned. I just didn't have a good name for the game so I just gave it a technical term and abbreviated it to DSTO.

DSTO itself is in essence what Dot Dodger is but different in it's own way. The style has slightly changed from some dull simplistic sprites. Now it's been well detailed and to fit the game.

I have currently been working on this project for a while but had to stop due to exams. But since today is the start of a long holiday I hope I can get a large chunk of work done (well it's not work, it's just a hobby).

Furthermore I am releasing a prerelease alpha version. It's just to help me organize some files and keep you guys interested. Also I wanted some constructive feed back for this game.

so if this is gonna be a succes i got an idea...

if you could in the later stages upgrade your molecule to in the start just two or three together, and then specialize each of the molecules

like: 5 molecules together, then the ones outside could be upgraded with hardened shell or maybe small spikes, and then the ones inside could be upgraded to, i dunno, maybe eat faster, move faster or whatever.

it'll be awesome if its possible :D

Unfortunatly I'm not very good with maths... and just as I've said I wanted to keep the game KISS and give it a arcade feeling. I know what you're going at, it seems cool in. I would have added it in another reality (maybe in one where I can properly program) but not this one.
