One day while hanging out with friends, Devin finds 2 versions of his friend Erik, with one having bright LED eyes. Upon announcing his claim, the room begins to shake and suddenly a ton of other Erik's start appearing out of thin air and begin to kidnap your friends, so you have to save them. Also the other Erik's are robots. This is a temporary description. You also have a gun.
It's been a while since I last updated the blog on here, and I think now is as good a time as any to update. If you're one of the 52 people that have played the newest version of Devin's Quest than you'll see what I've been working on. There's definitely a lot more that I could of added in the time difference between versions. I've also just now realized that the last version doesn't work since it's just an exe. Basically for an indefinite amount of time Devin's Quest updates are going to be few and far between. School comes before developing since I'm doing this mainly as a hobby so I can't guarantee that I can provide often updates on the game. However currently I am planning on releasing a new update with new original music to be a part of a full on custom made soundtrack for the game being made by new chiptune artist Starman Stan. You most likely have never heard of him before because it wasn't until Monday that he told me that he was going by this. Basically this is the same person that made the old music (with the exception of the boss battle music) except his new stuff is a lot better. Mainly because I was using outdated music that he had made which did not represent his full potential. Expect this update within the next few weeks, I'm just waiting for him to finish up a couple of tracks before I post the update. You can find some of his newer tracks here . I'm going to try to get a direct link to one of the new Devin's Quest songs, so look out on for it on our twitter.
In other news I'm also writing the script for a machinima series that my friends and I were going to make, so I'm going to have even less time to work on Devin's Quest, but at least it's something. I've been working on this on and off for a couple of years now so it's a higher priority than Devin's Quest. Once the first episode is finished things should be going back to normal(ish). Also, I've reverted back to the old tree's however I've slightly modified it by adding a black outline so it fits in better with the rest of the props.
That's it for now, I'll post another update once the new Devin's Quest update is ready.
Alright, so currently the combat system in Devin's Quest is quite bland and only consists of a generic gun, and cats that will insta-kill the robot Eriks...
