Summary
Desolation: Earth incorporates various horror and action environments
blended with some RPG style elements. The game is being made so that
almost every room, every alleyway or building can be dynamically studied from
the characters point of view. We mix in horror sequences with fast paced
action game play within the desolated earth. Desolation: Earth takes place
nearly 25 years before Ark of Nephilim (Our MMORPG also in development)
Desolation: Earth will fill in the gapped story line between earth as we know
it now, and earth that was destroyed during the invasion. You play as Sergeant
Ivan Lakov, a Spetsnaz soldier who has infiltrated American soil to become
part of the corporation that systematically takes over during the greatest
economic downfall in the United States history. With no fully recognized
government left, your mission is to find out all the secrets that lye in the dark,
and to discover humanity's fate.

Hello IndieDB community!
We have just released Desolation: Earth patch 1.1.1 which fixes a whole bunch of issues from 1.0.3
We released two new maps, Dark City and Warehouse. Our dedicated server has finally arrived and is now hosting the support chat and community chat applications full time. As we continue to work on the dedicated server application for Desolation: Earth that will be hosted as well when it's done.
We have also made a few changes to Dark Energy and spiced up Desolation: Earth’s patcher interface. A few changes have been made to the network code, we are always trying to optimize. A few maps have been re-done to fix some performance issues. Known glitches have also been patched and are looking forward to more bug reports. Doors have finally been fixed!

When i go to install via Dark energy a box appears saying, "Checking flies" with a download button, I click that and nothing happens.
Any help is appreciated

First I want to say awesome name. Love those guns.
That's unusual. I assume you have patched to 1.5.8.1? The download is known to take long if you are out of the United States. Make sure that when you launch Dark Energy you are doing so as Administrator, just right click and press "Run as Administrator" after clicking download on that "Checking Files" screen let it sit for 5 minutes give or take and see if the progress bar changes at all. If it does not let us know and we will assist you further. Thank you!
I would love to try out this game, but it keeps giving me the "sorry invalid username and/or email" error when i try to recover my password after a failed login with close to the same error, do you know what is wrong?
Hi ordoabchao, firstly we would like to say thank you very much for your interest in Desolation: Earth! I am the lead developer of the game. You are receiving this error because the Beta servers are offline. However, we have finally set a release date. This Saturday at around 8:00PM EST we will be opening the servers to everyone. This is the official release so no more betas! We hope to see you on! There will be instructions and a section for Q&A on our forums if you would like to sign up or need any other help! Awsome looking game guys what engine are you using?
Thank you very much Dotdroid, we have worked very hard on this game. We use a heavily modified FPSC engine. The FPSC engine isn't anything near UDK or other engines like it, it simply wasn't powerful enough. We learned early on that the source code was available. So we were forced to re-write most of the engine if we were to get any respect from the gaming community. If we had a time machine we would go back and use UDK. We plan to use UDK in the near future, but since years have gone into sourcing and optimizing this engine were kinda stuck with it.

Thank you very much AudioGhost, we are working really hard to get a stable version out to the public. Patch 2.2 is expected to be out soon which will include all the bug fixes reported thus far and hopefully a fix to the connection bug. I will keep all the visitors and followers updated as best I can. We update our Facebook near daily with news on progress. Additionally you can always visit our site and sign up for a forum account, all users get a "Beta tester" badge for making a Desolation: Earth account.
