Darkfield Alpha

Inspired by classic games like Freelancer and Wing Commander, Darkfield Alpha is all about pedal-to-the-metal multiplayer dogfight.

In Darkfield Alpha, you have one job and one job only: hunt enemy fighters. We created Darkfield Alpha to be a multiplayer game where you launch straight into the action - because your faction needs you!
You are fighting at the end of a decade long war. You are either a member of the "Technocrats" with technologically advanced ships, holographic retina projectors and targeting systems, or you fight dirty for the rebels.

DESIGNED FOR VR - BUT PLAYABLE WITHOUT!

Darkfield Alpha has been designed for VR, especially the Oculus Rift. But we understand that most gamers don't have one at the moment. That is why we made Darkfield Alpha also playable on a normal screen!

WHY CROWD FUNDING?

We have been working on the game for the past months and funded most of its development out of our own pockets. Now, that we have a working alpha version of the game, we think it is best time to start crowd funding the last development stretch of Darkfield Alpha. Since we want to give you access to the pre-release versions of the game as soon as possible, we decided against an established crowd funding platform and instead, make the game directly available through this website. We think this is the biggest advantage:

You get to play the game directly after backing and we receive immediate feedback on the gameplay :).After buying one of the tiers on our website, you will get an email with a download link. These downloads are of course DRM-Free :). We are also trying to publish our game here on Steam Greenlight. If we make it, you will get a Steam Key for Darkfield Alpha as well.

REWARD TIERS

What would crowd funding be without extra goodies? :).Our "Early Access" tier just gives you access to the (pre-)release versions of the game. So this ideal if you only care about the game.The "Supporter" tier includes everything from "Early Access" but includes a lot of extra value like Wallpapers, Art Books and a forum Badge (make sure to check the tier on the right).With the "Enemy Contact" tier, you get to be a NPC pilot in the game. We will contact you with more information on how to send in the required data."Be A Legend" is something very special. You get to be one of the 20 legendary pilots in the game. Your name will be for everyone to see.

PRE-RELEASE VERSIONS

As a backer, you have access to the pre-release versions of Darkfield Alpha. Our first public release includes the following:
• One Faction (mix between Technocrats and Rebels)
• Vast map with asteroids and many hiding places
• Singleplayer with Bots
• Multiplayer against Humans (and you can add Bots)
• Two Weapons: Gatling and Homing Missiles• Newtonian Physics on everything - even your bullets!

OUR PROGRESS

During the last months, we created a playable alpha version of our game. As you read this, we are adding tons of new features and game play mechanics to the game.We will try to release new versions as soon as possible, so you will always have new stuff to try out! Other Features that we will include soon:
• Active Stealth / Defense systems
• Epic background Space Battle
• Launch Tubes or "Carrier Style" bases
• More Gameplay Modes
