Disaster has taken its harsh grip and the universe is slowly dying. Systems cease to exist and there seems to be no way of stopping the threat. But a rumour is slowly spreading through the galaxy of a weapon against this menace - "the Light Core". The space action game Dark Horizon takes place in a breathtaking atmospheric universe with an epic storyline about the fight for survival.
Tarr Chronicles and Dark Horizon version 1.0.7.0 has just been released as well as an SDK for the BRU Engine (Which is used by both games). The main difference between 1.0.6.1 and 1.0.7.0 is the mod support and plugin support.
You can now create mods using the BRU Engine SDK and use them with Tarr Chronicles and Dark Horizon (Note: Mods made for one game may not work with the other). There are currently no known limitations with the mod support except profiles. Profiles are currently global rather than being local to a mod/game(Profiles will become local with the next version). Total Conversions are possible.
You can also create plugins(In C++ or Delphi) for both games (They can either be global or local to a mod) but at this time they only give access to LUA and not direct access to Engine variables.
Both Plugin and Mod Support will be extended over 2012 and beyond. This is the Beginning, not the End.

While 3 years too late the next patch will fix this issue (I was unable to reproduce it until now). No ETA on when it will be released.
The Un-compiled LUA Scripts for Dark Horizon have been released by TarrSupport (Who maintain both Tarr Chronicles and Dark Horizon) which opens the door for mods(Its the first stage).
I would upload the Mod Pack files here but it seems to be locked.
P.S Does Desura use the latest version (1.0.6.1) or is it using an outdated version like GamersGate?
Where are the mod pack files located? Found it...
For anyone else looking for them, they are now on ModDB with the name "Dark Horizon SDK (1.0.6.1)".
These are what feel about the Demo:
Good:
- Beautiful space design
- Good looking particles
Bad:
- Not easy to understand user interface (HUD)
- Buying things is a bit difficult
- Control is hard
- About the ship parts, i don't understand a bit
- Some in-space modes that confuse me (Shadow/ Corter....)
Wait... What? Indie game? It's a lie! It's the russian commercial game - Quazar-studio.com . In addition, Dark Horizon is a sequel and left three years ago.
What do you mean by left? Released? Anyone know what happened to the company that made this game?
Released, yeah. In 2009 Quazar studio released at the moment his latest project - game "Cold Stars"(or "The Stars Are Cold Toys", I do not know what the exact name of the game in English) based on the books known in Russia by Russian writer Sergei Lukyanenko - En.wikipedia.org. This game is worse than other games of this studio, but the atmosphere and design are beautiful. But I'm not sure that this game was released outside Russia.
If you really need, I can PM any way to familiarize with the game and give the soundtrack of Cold Stars, which I received personally from his creator, and this soundtrack is almost nowhere to be found.
Perhaps at the moment the studio is continuing to develop its strategy for an old project of his universe Enosta Cronicles of Tarr (originally a project Enosta, but decided to make a simple debut as Cronicles of Tarr).
