Originally developed by one person and using a custom made game engine, Dangerous Rays is a single player FPS game with some survival components inspired by the S.T.A.L.K.E.R* game series, where you play as a normal citizen that survived to a nuclear accident disaster.

Hello everyone !

Here is the lastest improvements made in the future Alpha 18 version of Dangerous Rays.

1- Work From Paris

Im arrived in Paris and im now working from here. My internet speed is much better here so it will be easier for me to upload new dev videos of Dangerous Rays and maybe do a live stream before the end of the year.

2- Weather Effects Improvements

I have finished most of the weather effects including the new thunder simulation with improved strike lighting effects. Fog density and dynamic clouds colors have been tweaked for more realism. Performance of weather effects has been also increased greatly.
You can see those improvements in this dev video: Youtube.com

3- Audio Global Improvements

Audio system has been completely reworked. The new system is fixing several small issues and reduce memory and cpu usage by almost 50%. Soon i will add DSP effects support (echo, reverb...) to add even more quality to the audio system.

4- New Scripting System

The new scripting system foundations are now ready. Combined with the map editor, this will give to modders the opportunity to do advanced things like custom scenarized events, new game mechanics, new types of objects, new procedural generation methods for the "freeroam" singleplayer game mode...
The scripting language syntax is very similar to the C / C++ programming language so the tons of internet tutorials of C/C++ languages can be used to learn how to write scripts for Dangerous Rays.
This scripting system will be improved with new features during the game development. The final goal would be to offer at least the same possibilities than the ArmA 2 / ArmA 3 scripting system.

That's all for now ! Im looking forward to share my future progresses in the next dev diary.

Thank you to everyone for your support. Your comments and feedback are very important for me to be able to finish this very big update of Dangerous Rays. :-bd
