Curse of the Hans is an individual solo University assignment made within 7 weeks including the time to learn Unity engine. Curse of the Hans is a simple game. Players need to collect all the Scrolls in order to exorcise all the demons and ghosts hunting the ancient city of China. However, the scrolls are all hidden around the city. Notes were scattered around which players need to read and identify the location of the scrolls.
Hi guys,
First of all, I really hope that everyone enjoys the game. The game was actually not intended to be uploaded for public to play as it was supposed to be merely a simple University project. It was designed more toward as a showcase for my environment design skill rather than a playable game. However, after I finished the alpha of the game within 7 weeks. I decided to polish it's graphics and add in some more stuffs (since I have some free time) to allow people to enjoy the game better.
Will there be a full version of the game?
As my current time schedule can be quite tight these days, there will be no future improvement on this game. I apologize if anyone expect it to be better.
Future plans?
But in future, I will be working with a small group of team to produce a better quality modern Horror game with more complex mechanics. We will consider uploading it depends on whether we reach the target of our goal.
New Chinese horror game?
I also plan to create another Chinese Horror game based on Chinese culture and I guarantee that it will be a lot more terrifying than what you experience in Curse of the Hans (no more Japanese ghost aka Grudge but more Chinese type).
Feel free to send me some feedbacks :) I will take note of it and be sure next one will be more better!
And again hope you guys enjoy the game!
Cheers!!!
Beta is almost here! However, do expect the unexpected(bugs, glitches and unoptimized game)
My main computer had encountered some problem which I cannot solve solely by myself.
Very Good Game :D

Hi
I just played your game and I'm really impressed! You have really captured the essence of a true horror game and I enjoyed it alot. I'm glad there are no real jumpscares. Instead, there is this panic because you know the "entities" are closing in on you. I also really liked the concept of finding notes with clues to help the player find the scrolls. The "collect X amount of Y" concept is pretty outdated but you mixed it up and it felt more meaningful and more like a treasure hunt, lol.
Thanks for a great game. For those 7 weeks of work, you should be proud :). Here is my video about the game:
PS: The "special entity" was fricking amazing. I won't forget those sounds for awhile :'S...:P
Best regards
Zalzar
Thank you for playing the game! I enjoy watching your playthrough and also really appreciate the fact that you understand the concept of this game.
PS: While reading the notes, it paused the game so as the ghosts. Sorry for not mentioning it in any tutorial or somewhere. :P
No problem, it is a great game ^^
OK, thanks for clearing that up :P. I thought the ghosts would stop if I started reading notes but I didn't want to risk it because I was too afraid haha :P..
Hey! :D I played the beta for your game and it was pretty scary! D: I think the number count on mine for the scrolls didn't add up one or glitched and added one too many when I got one scroll but other than that, I liked it! :D I can't wait to see what the full game is like! :)I did a video of the game here: Youtube.com Wish you luck on the full version! The beta wasn't that bad I only ran into the thing where it might have not added a scroll I got or it added one too many, but that was it! :)
Hi Jerejoe, Thank you for playing the game. Me and my friends had a lot of fun watching your play-through. The scrolls didn't glitched or anything. Well, those object paper with sparking particle that you collected are "notes" which it contains clues for you to find the scrolls. Damn, I should have make it more clear in the game, sorry about the confusion. Unfortunately, there won't really be any full version of this game because it was a simple concept for a simple project.
Anyways, super appreciated your feedback and play-through. You made my day! :D
This looks like a really interesting game, Tracking!
Thank you endosine. :) Will be uploading it very soon!
